About Parkmore
Parkmore is ideally situated immediately west of Sandton. It is the residential suburb of the Sandton CBD – the last affordable family space in Sandton.
To live in Parkmore is to be in “the convenience zone” – you can move to almost every destination in Sandton and Johannesburg with ease and confidence, and still call this suburb ‘home’.
Sandton is the business and financial hub of Africa. The Johannesburg Stock Exchange, prominent banks and the head offices of many major national and internationally corporations are situated in the CBD.
Parkmore has its own high-reputation Montrose Primary school, and Parkmore nursery school, The Park re-primary crèche and Stepping Stones pre-primary schools, with a number of organised after-care homes for the toddlers of the working mothers. St Stithian’s Boys and Girls College, Bryanston High School, Sandringham High, Hyde Park High, St David Schools and Grayston Prep are in easy morning-traffic reach.
Parkmore is fundamentally a residential zoned suburb. There are designated nodes with business-offices and retail business to be found along 4th Street and specific sections of 10th and 11th Street. You must visit the local shops and restaurants along 11th Street, and in Parkmore Mews.
George Lea Park along Sandton Drive hosts the Sandton Sports Club with a sports pub and cricket, touch rugby, senior and junior football, and volleyball clubs plus an in-door swimming pool. Field and Study Park is just waiting to you, your family and pet-dogs with its green indigenous flora and open grasses fields, to stroll through its rural peace.
Within emergency distance are the Morningside and Sandton Clinics. The Johannesburg General Hospital is straight down the N1 to the City. Residents have found the local medical practices along 10th and 11th Streets convenient for patients.
Benmore Gardens Shopping Centre does provide the home-needs-shopping right on your doorstep at west end of 11th Street. Sandton City offers a South African ‘Dubai’ shopping experience. The newly opened Pick n Pay on Nicol (William Nicol Drive bottom Republic Road) offers something surprising different and worth the visit.
