Meet Kim Le Roux, the financial administrator of the Parkmore Community Association (PCA). Kim is known for her dedication, reliability, and meticulous approach to managing the finances that keep the PCA running smoothly. Her background in finance, coupled with her passion for the community, makes her an integral part of the PCA team. Today, we dive into her journey, vision, and what she loves about Parkmore.
PCA: Can you share a bit about your background in finance and what led you to this role with the Parkmore Community Association?
Kim: I come from an Events Management background with strong planning, organisational and administrative skills with finances and sales falling under my management roll. I decided to give up the long hours and started working for my husband’s company in Parkmore. The Parkmore Community Association and the late Brian Robertson asked me if I would assist the PCA part time, which lead to me taking over the PCA financial role and I have been doing it for the past +/- 9 years now.
PCA: What do you love most about Parkmore, and what makes this community special to you?
Kim: Working in Parkmore is central to everything and coming from a trail running community it’s special to see the Parkmore community grow.
PCA: As the financial administrator of the PCA, what are your primary responsibilities, and how do you ensure the association’s financial health?
Kim: My primary responsibilities are managing the accounts for the PCA, Central Road Closure and Estate Road Closure with my biggest responsibility ensuring our members pay timeously which unfortunately has proven to be a continuous battling in these trying times. Detailed monthly management packs are sent to the directors highlighting the profit or loss so they are always aware of the PCA’s financial health.
PCA: What is your vision for Parkmore in the next five years, particularly from a financial and community development perspective?
Kim: My vision is that a “WHOLE LOT” more residents sign up and join the community, this will enable the PCA to roll out more maintenance and security projects that will add great value to the suburb with the hopes of pricing being able to go down for all residents but this can only be done if all Parkmore residents have the same vision.
PCA: If you could leave the world—or Parkmore residents—with one piece of wisdom about community, finances, or life, what would it be?
Kim: There is no bigger security asset than a community coming together with the same vision for a safer Parkmore.
Kim, thank you for your unwavering commitment to the Parkmore community. Your diligence and reliability have played a significant role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of the PCA. We’re fortunate to have you as part of the team, and we look forward to seeing how your vision continues to shape our community in the years to come!
